Once there lived a small girl named Cassie. She was fourteen years old. She was a very intelligent and amiable girl. She was very fun-loving and adventurous. She loved her parents and had a wonderful bond with them. One pleasant day the three of them decided to go boating by the riverside. So, in the evening all of them went to the river for a boat ride. They carried some scrumptious food and a camera to click photographs of themselves and the scenery. The three of them got on the boat, and the boat started to move.

They all were very excited and were enjoying themselves. After sometimes Cassie’s mother decided that they should eat some food. So they opened the box and started eating, meanwhile, her father decided to click the pictures, he said ‘Cheese’ and as he was about to click the picture, Cassie started to cough severely. The mother and father got scared and requested the man who was drawing the boat to take back the boat to the harbour. The parents were scared and confused a little and Cassie couldn’t stop coughing.

The father called an UBER and put Cassie in the back seat with her mother and he sat in the front seat and they left as fast as possible to the hospital. When they reached the hospital, the driver helped them and opened the gate as Cassie was about to get down she fainted and her body turned bluish. She was taken to the ICU on a stretcher. She was admitted and immediately the doctors started her treatment. The parents were scared and the father decided to ask the doctor what had happened. With a heavy heart, he went to the doctor and asked, “What happened doctor?” The doctor said, “I am sorry sir your daughter is suffering from cancer”. The father was dazed, he ran to his wife and said, the mother cried in agony. She couldn’t believe it. After some time, the nurse called out to them and said that they could meet Cassie. They went to the room and saw Cassie lying on the bed. They tried to cheer her by saying she was fine but Cassie was intelligent so with the symptoms she understood she had cancer. So holding her father’s hand with a content smile she said to him softly, ‘It’s ok father; I know I have cancer.” The father bowed his head sorrowfully and caught her hand tightly. There was silence in the hospital room.

The doctor told them that they could take her after two days. So the father went home and the mother decided to stay with her in the hospital. Two days passed by and it was a sunny day. They went home and saw that Cassie’s friends were waiting for her with gifts. They all spoke to her and did not make her feel different.

After some time, once her friends went and three of them, Cassie, her mother and father were sat down for a chat. Cassie said, “Since I know I am suffering from cancer before anything severe happens, I want to go on a family picnic and make it memorable for the rest of my life.”

So the father decided they would go to a botanical garden. Early morning they packed some cupcakes and juice and left the house. As they reached the garden, they could see many children playing games, singing and some even dancing. She saw people rafting. The garden was calm and cool. She was happy.

Slowly evening approached and a crowd began to gather around a huge bonfire and people roasting and grilling food. After an hour, they went back home and Cassie’s mother asked, “How was it child?” she said it was a magical moment that would remain with her no matter where she went.
