Heera and Koyla

Once upon a time in the thick jungles.. there lived a snake... known as Heera.. Unlike other snakes in the jungle ... Heera was very friendly, caring, and peace-loving...He never believed in harming others for fulfilling his needs.. The animals of the jungle were also very happy and grateful to Heera...for his kind nature.... and were in friendly terms with Heera....

Heera also had cordial relations with villagers who lived outside the jungle.... With the help of these villagers, Heera always warned and alerted the animals of the jungle regarding fire breakouts, droughts, floods, and other calamities...which loomed on the welfare and harmony of the jungle.... Heera was wise...he was the chief advisor of the Lion King....and timely advised the Lion King... for the harmony and peaceful atmosphere in the jungle....

Heera was truly popular and loved by both humans and animals.... This fact couldn't be digested by Koyla....the black snake....who always conspired on disturbing the peace of the jungle... Koyla and his fellow snakes also brought troubles in the jungle... hence they were debarred for life from the jungle....

One day.. Koyla decided to end the game of Heera...and then become a favorite of everyone in and outside the jungle...

Koyla told Heera bitterly..." look what I do to your humans now...." thus saying Koyla went to the village well and spit his poison into the water of the well, thus making it poisonous and black...

Heera... worriedly watched all this in horror.... Heera immediately went inside the well to suck up all the poison....as Heera went inside the well to save the villagers from the deadly poisoned water... Koyla took the opportunity and rushed to the villagers.... and called out...."Hey... Heera has poisoned the well water...if you don't believe me... go and see Heera is in the well and he has made the water of the well black and poisonous...."

The villagers rushed to the well... but to Koylas shock...the villagers pulled out Heera from the well and asked whether Heera was safe?...

Koyla was enraged...and hissed angrily...."Instead of punishing and killing Heera you fools are asking about his well-being".

This statement of Koyla made the villagers angry...and they hit the stick on the ground...and shouted...."You evil Koyla... you are known for your bad deeds... even the king of the jungle has banished you from the jungle.... we know Heera from the time this village came into existence... it was Heera who told us to dig the well here and water was found...it was Heera who guarded the villagers from bandits and wild animals....it was Heera who maintained good and friendly relations between the dwellers of the jungle and we humans...it was Heera who asked our opinion about fire, floods, and draughts and alerted the jungle animals...."we all know Heera can never betray us.....we know you too Koyla.... you are a bad imaged snake.... doing bad and evil all his life.... you have poisoned the well water.... and this was told to us by the spy of Lion King... who alerted us about your shameful deed...."

Koyla was about to sneak out quietly... when one of the villagers ran and held Koyla by his tail and said "Pull out all the poison from the well else I'll beat you to pulp.... Heera was partly conscious...as he had sucked the poisoned well water...and the poison had got into his body.... while Heera was still alive and breathing....the village Vaidh...(Doctor) medicated him and brought Heera to consciousness....

Koyla hung his head in shame... admitted his mistake and went down the well to pull out the poison from the well water... now the well water was silver and gleaming in sunlight... thus fresh and sweet again.... for the use of the villagers...

Koyla apologized to the villagers and to Heera as well...and left the place with his associates...and was never ever heard of or seen again...

Moral.... Goodwill, Trust, and Reputation are built over the years...with toil and hard work it gets only stronger..... no third activity can destroy the thickness of this asset of Goodwill, Trust, and Reputation...
