I have never seen a boy as jovial as my classmate and best friend Happy. His name was Harshvardhan Singh but he was popular in our school by his nickname "Happy". Both his name and nickname had the same meaning and reflected his personality perfectly. I have never seen him getting upset even when he was scolded by our teachers, beaten by his dad or not even when he loses a cricket match or when his favorite football team is beaten miserably by their opponents. Denial of pocket money or permission to go to the movies or picnic was never able to make him gloomy. If one door of happiness is closed on his face, he stumbles upon the key to the other one. Come what may, our Happy Singh will always wear the crown of the 'happiest guy' alive on the Earth.

Not only the happiest one, but he was the most loving, caring, and the kind-hearted boy too. We all loved him for his benevolence, amiable nature, and the heart of gold, that he had. But the only flaw that I could point out in him was that he was weak in studies. Although he was an intelligent boy, he hated to study. His father had tried all he could to make Happy study well. He had spent almost half his salary for hiring private tutors for his son and all his energy in preaching his son about the advantages of having a good qualification and a well paid job. He exerted all his physical strength in thrashing Happy when nothing worked but Happy still failed in the exams. Now, he had given Happy a final warning that he fails in the final exam of class fifth too, he was going to pack off Happy to some strict boarding school, for sure.

We all were really tense as we were sure that Happy was not going to make it. We had tried our best to convince Happy to take his studies seriously but his grades were still the same in mock tests conducted before the actual exams. I was sure that this time Happy was definitely going to turn unhappy when his father subjects him to the inhumane tortures of some boarding school which are worst than jails.

But contrary to our expectations, we all were in for a pleasant surprise. Due to the spread of the corona epidemic, our exams were called off and we all were promoted to the next standard. We were so overwhelmed at the thought of not losing our dear friend Happy. And in turn, along with being the happiest guy, Happy turned out to be the luckiest one too.
