Looking at the door they saw Mrs Johnson, her husband and a certain man who wore a cap and a working suit. Angela was relieved, finally, Mrs Johnson came home. Angela's heart was still racing, she was still breathing heavily while her legs were shaking.

Mrs Johnson saw the situation and got concerned. She walked towards Angela, put her handbag on the table and sat by Angela's side.

“What is wrong, Angela?” Mrs Johnson asked with a frown face.

“I am so happy that you are here,” she replied.

“Yeah. You certainly do look that way. But what's wrong? Why are you shaking and sweating?” She touched Angela's forehead.

“Well, it-it-it se-se-se-seems as if we-we-we have a-a-a guest in this house,” Angela stammered.

“Guest, here, where is that guest?” Mrs Johnson asked politely.

“We-we-we don't know.”

“What do you mean, we don't know? Please tell me what is going on here?” she looked at Angela, she was confused. She looked around the living room like she saw something.

She stood up and asked, “My baby, is my son alright?”

“Don't worry he is alright. He is sleeping,” Angela confirmed.

“Well then, why do you look scared? You are literally sweating.”

“Ma'am, we heard weird noises in this house. And I saw lights switch on and off on their own. Let me not forget hearing the shower pouring at midnight.” Angela explained.

Mr and Mrs Johnson laughed their hearts out. Angela was shocked seeing them laughing. She thought, "What is going on in their heads? I told them the weird things that happened in their house but what they do is laugh. Shouldn't they get concerned?"

Mrs Johnson agreed, “Yes darling I know what you are talking about.”

“What do you mean?” Angela stood up in shock.

Mrs Johnson also stood up. She explained, “ I actually forgot to tell you about the things that happen in this house. You do not need to be scared. You see; everything that you heard and saw has a simple explanation.”

Surprised, Angela asked, “What do you mean by Simple explanation?”

“Yes, simple explanation. Sit down and I will tell you everything.”

Angela and Mrs Johnson sat down on the sofa. The handyman went into the kitchen with a toolbox. Mr Johnson carried Jonathan and took him to the bedroom.

When Angela, Jason and Mrs Johnson were alone in the living room, Angela started explaining the things she saw and heard in the house while Mrs Johnson was not around. Angela explained for several minutes.

Mrs Johnson started explaining, "This house is not as perfect as you'd expect. It has advantages and disadvantages. You said that you saw the living room light was on, and suddenly it switched off. This is because the bulb holder is finished; it needs to be replaced. That is why it switches on and off on its own. Actually, even the bathroom bulb has the same problem”

"Second, it's about the bathroom. You see; the shower pipes are loose. So whenever a neighbour turns on his or her shower, ours turns on as well because it shares the same plumbing system”

"And lastly the noises you heard. When it is windy outside; the holes in the roof catcher the wind. The wind then echoes through the ceiling. This happens because the attic is big. And hence, this produces weird noises”

“That is why we came with that Handyman in the kitchen to help us fix everything before we start losing visitors,” Mrs Johnson laughed and continued, “So that is it, everything you needed to know. Sorry, the heads up came in late. As you might have noticed, we were in a hurry.”

While tapping Angela on the head, Mrs Johnson said, "I hope you weren't too scared”

“I was 100% scared. But now I feel relieved because you have cleared the doubts I had,” Angela replied.

Mrs Johnson got her handbag and went upstairs. Angela was in the living room with Jason. Angela was relieved that everything was explained

“There wasn't actually anything to be scared of,” Jason concluded.

Just then, something crossed her mind, she thought, “What of the notes I received?” She quickly pattered upstairs to Mrs Johnson.

“What is it now?” Jason teased as Angela pattered upstairs.

“Mrs Johnson?” Angela called out.

“Yes dear,” she replied as she turned back to face Angela.

“What about the notes I received?” she asked with a frown face. Her heart started racing, her face started sweating.

“Notes? what notes? I don't know about any notes,” she replied with a confused face.

“Who wrote the notes?” Angela asked.

“What are you talking about?” Mr Johnson asked.

“When you were away, I had a strange dream that someone visited me in this house. I couldn't see the person in my dream because his face was not clear. When he touched me, I woke up. Later that morning, I ran over to the neighbour’s house for help because I received notes. The first one was beside my bed. I saw the note in the living room the previous night. But when I woke up in the morning I saw it beside my bed. The note read “Good morning Angela,”

“I found the second note in the kitchen as I was about to give Jonathan some cereal. It was attached behind the box. It read “Aren't you going to serve me as well?” That is the time I decided to run over to the neighbour’s house for help. I found Jason Williams cleaning a car. I asked him if he could stay with me until you returned”

“Yesterday I heard someone calling my name. I walked out of the bedroom and I saw that the bathroom light was on. I also heard the shower pouring heavily. I assumed that it was Jason taking a bath but I was wrong. I heard footsteps coming from the bathroom, I thought Jason was walking towards the door but he was standing behind me”

“Earlier today I received a big blue box with a third note inside. The note read “Sorry, I scared you yesterday in the bathroom.” I got that note and called Jason, I asked him if he wrote the note but he refused. Until you clear that doubt, I won't leave this house.”

Mr and Mrs Johnson looked at each other with confused faces. They were worried because there was panic in Angela's voice.

Mr Johnson touched Angela's forehead and asked “Dear, are you alright?”

“Yes. I'm fine. I just want you to clear the doubt I have.” She pretended to be calm but her voice and body couldn't let her. Her eyes were reddish, goosebumps popped out of her skin.

“Dear, Jason Williams was our neighbour’s first and only son. His father was a businessman. He bought this house for Jason on his birthday. Unfortunately, Jason Williams passed away five years ago. He died in a car accident while returning from a party with his friends. Later on, Jason's father sold us this house.” Angela's jaw dropped with shock. Her heart raced quickly, blood was rushing through her veins. She felt weak in her knees.

Angela was quiet for five seconds as she looked into their serious eyes. She started talking like an insane person, there was a grin on her face, “Please stop joking with me. I have been with Jason Williams for a day, he was the one who prepared breakfast and lunch for me and Jonathan. And now I’m here with you, and you are telling me that Jason Williams has been dead for five years,” she laughed maniacally and asked,” Are you telling me that you didn't see Jason Williams when you walked in?”

Mrs Johnson replied, “Dear, Jason Williams has been dead for five years.”

“No. Come and see Jason Williams, he is sitting in the living room. “ Angela pulled Mr and Mrs Johnson's hands. Mr and Mrs Johnson looked at each other with worrisome faces. They tried explaining and holding Angela back, but she wouldn't let them. The three walked downstairs and into the living room but Jason was no were to be found. Angela looked around the room but couldn't find Jason.

Angela yelled, “Jason! Jason! Jason!” but nothing happened. Mrs Johnson tried holding Angela, but she slipped through her hands and ran outside, past the thorn tree, she was panting heavily. Mr. Johnson followed behind. Angela arrived at the neighbour's house and knocked persistently.

Mr Johnson yelled, “Angela, please it's late.” But Angela continued knocking. She knocked and knocked, and finally, a woman opened the door. She looked disgusted by Angela's persistent knocking.

The woman rudely asked Angela, “Don’t you have any manners?”

“Sorry Mrs Williams,” Mr Johnson apologised.

“Did Jason come here? He was at my Aunt's house. I looked for him but I couldn't find him. Please call him,” Angela demanded.

“Who are you?” Mrs Williams asked Angela.

“I’m Angela, Jason's friend,” Angela replied, she continued, “Please call him.”

Mrs Williams looked into Angela's eyes and spoke slowly, “Jason,” she paused for few seconds, there were tears in the woman's eyes. She continued slowly,” Jason was my only son. He was sweet, caring and fearless. He loved to joke and prank people. But, unfortunately, even the kindest people in this world don't seem to please death. Jason passed away in a car accident five years ago. I was never been myself since then. So, Angela, please do not remind me of Jason.“

Mrs Johnson also walked out of her house and ran to Angela. She said to Angela, “Dear, Jason is dead.” When Mrs Williams heard this, she got very emotional and slammed the door. Mrs Johnson held Angela's hand, the three went back inside the house.

When they walked inside the house, Mr Johnson walked to the kitchen to get some water for Angela. Mrs Johnson walked with Angela to the guest room. Mrs Johnson instructed Angela to rest. Moments later, Mr Johnson walked in with the glass of water, handed it to Angela. She drunk the water and gave the glass back to Mr. Johnson. She got under the blankets and closed her eyes.

Mr and Mrs Johnson walked out of the bedroom after switching off the light. They were still worried about the behaviour that Angela showed earlier.

When Angela was fast asleep, she had a dream: She was dreaming that, while at Mrs Johnson's house, the person that visited her in her earlier dream was standing in front of her. Everything looked crystal clear. Angela couldn't see his face because he was facing the other direction. He wore a black hood, his hands were in the pocket. He was humming slowly and calmly. He nodded his head in connection with the humming.

Angela stood firm and asked him, ”Who are you?” The person turned around slowly. He then removed his hood. Angela was in tears after seeing Jason. She couldn't believe it.

The person replied, “I'm Jason Williams.”

“But, why did you do this to me, Jason? Everyone thinks that I'm crazy. You left me when I needed you..”

Jason replied, there was a calmness in his voice, “As I wrote earlier, I didn't mean to scare you. I told you that, where I come from, it's a lonely place. I never get to do much. I just came to visit the house that my father bought for me. And then, I found you. It is time for me to go.”

Jason turned and promised, “I will never trouble you. Bye Angela.” He walked out of the living room slowly, stopped for few seconds, and waved at Angela before getting into a black car.
