As a parent, I think bedtime Stories are a must as it is a good way to build a strong bond between the parent and children. The child has an opportunity to think about characters, to think about the feelings of those characters and learn to use words to describe feelings that are otherwise difficult. And most importantly, I think it is also one of the best ways to make them empathetic.

As we are home locked nowadays, I am trying to engage my son in a productive way. Yesterday night I narrated the incidence of "First meeting of Shivansh with his Nanu" in the form of a story.

I was almost eight months pregnant and everyone at home was eagerly waiting for the bundle of joy to come(my first baby). On 25th April, the most awaited moment came, when I had my own 'ansh' in my arms...I can still remember the persons who had come to the hospital to welcome my baby..but somewhere in the corner of my heart, I was feeling restless..my eyes were looking for the person who waited for this moment almost equally like me and my husband..but he couldn't make it possible because he was(actually he still is) suffering from stage 4 throat cancer (with a pipe around his neck to take the food).

After 4 days, we came back home from the hospital. Time was flying. Me and my both families got busy with their daily routines (including spending quality time with baby also).

On the very day, one evening someone knocked my door..what I saw that moment was beyond my imagination..my father was standing in front of me with my brother's hands on his shoulder and back to give him support. I took him to the room where my baby was sleeping..the moment he saw him for the first time (not in mobile clicks but in real), tears rolled out from his eyes .. although he did not take him into his lap(because of chances of infection), he just touched his gentle hand. Immediately my son also responded by moving his little finger. I burst into tears seeing this kind of connection. A sense of belongingness and completeness was clearly reflecting in Nanu's smile.

Now after one month, Shivansh is turning 7, and he is still one of the most treasured assets of his nanu.
