Fantasy Game
Fantasy Game
The darkness of the night receded as commanded by the nature. The morning sunlight against the picturesque backdrop of a blue sky was a sight for the sore eyes. Street dogs organized a protest on the streets of Mysore to ensure the residents supplied them with enough food. The wind blew through the streets to make its presence felt amidst the pandemonium on the streets. Some shrewish women in the area remonstrated with their husbands for not buying them glittering outfits. A fourteen-year-old boy Rocky looked ecstatic looking at his favourite cartoon show. It looked like he renounced the outside world which seldom excites him. Unfazed by the clamour outside, he munched on the delicious hot chips. A toy emerged in front of his house out of nowhere. He picked up the toy and fiddled with it before pressing a fantasy button which zoomed him into a different world altogether. He wondered whether his crazy thoughts intertwined together to spawn a magical experience.
A magical room wreathed with glittering lights and flowers welcomed him with open arms. The toy might have foiled his cartoon binge-watching but offered a surprise entry into the fantasy room. He endeavored to venture into the crevices of the fantasy room. An ice cream fountain raised his eyebrows and germinated a smile on his countenance. He drooled at the delicious cream which seeped through the hole in the wall. All thoughts of his home receded since his mind accompanied his tastebuds toward the cream. He closed his eyes and feasted on the ice cream and expected the fantasy room to churn out tons of food to satiate his tastebuds. Instantaneously, the room door opened to reveal the greenery garden outside which was a soothing place to be. Rocky felt blessed to have won a chance to this fantastic place which has tons of secrets under its arms. He sat on the swing as the wind continued to toy with him. An airplane materialized at the spot compelling him to slip into it. Rocky had never traveled via a flight and he was looking forward to this experience for quite a long time. He was oblivious to the deception game that the monster in the plane would play. The plane ascended whipping the wind behind. Taken over by the surge in dopamine, Rocky screamed in delight to commemorate his happiness.
"How is the experience?" a weird voice from the pilot hit his ears.
"Nice," he said looking at a creature wrapped in a cloak.
The situation went haywire when the pilot revealed its face and it was a fierce tiger that looked set to pounce upon him. Taken aback by the living monster, he leaped out of the train. Being assaulted by the wind, he fell thud on the ground with broken bones and brains. He was dead!
He was looking forward to a pleasant experience but this turned into a harrowing experience.
The fantasy world offered him another chance to survive. When he woke up, he was astonished to see ammunition in the room. What is he supposed to do now? He just couldn't comprehend the perils woven by the fantasy land. His perception was to explore and enjoy the adventure but this is turning into a horror movie. What is he supposed to do with these rifles? Become a gangster? A bullet whizzed past his shoulders in a jiffy which almost made him vomit the heart out of his mouth. He picked up a rifle and shot back at the place from where the bullet pierced through. Akin to a video game, a zig-zag path got created and rogue men appeared occasionally to shoot him. Being a video game addict, it was not difficult for him to attack the armed men but that was a virtual game, here it is a reality. With a deep sense of foreboding, he mopped perspiration off his forehead. With no option to evade the game, he set about shooting the armed men to survive. Some of them had donned a devil look to startle him. He screamed hysterically at times but still managed to survive. Things took a violent turn when he did not understand the deception game played by a man, who in the disguise of a beggar shot him. His incessant sobs made Rocky show compassion to him but he leveraged the opportunity to shoot Rocky in the chest. Rocky was dead!
The fantasy world rendered him another chance to survive. This time he was in the middle of a deserted forest that looked perilous from all directions. The eerie silence threatened to explode his heart and his fear-laden brain seem to surrender to the conspiracies churned around. He slapped his forehead to have taken the worst decision by pressing the button of the toy. Now he wondered whether he could ever ricochet off himself from this land back to his home. He freaked out when a few earthworms fell over his head to surge dread in him. The sense of impending doom seemed to mess up his mind. He desperately wanted to hit slumber to evade the perilous scenarios which would materialize next. But his luck seemed to have run out as the anxiety-prone mind was on an alert mode. A small girl dressed in green leaves assured him unassailable protection from the evils of the forest. She took him inside a cave where she promised her parents and friends would render their hospitality to the visitor. Rocky felt relieved upon evading the brutal conspiracies of the forest. The girl's parents welcomed him as if he was their relative. They entertained him through their emotional songs which made the boy fall into their trap. They asked him to join the lunch to which he agreed. As he was devouring the sweet meal, a wicked grin manufactured on their countenances. He couldn't grapple with the gnawing sensation in his tummy. Blood seeped out of his mouth and did not take much time for him to realize that the food served to him was concocted with poison. The small girl joined her parents to commemorate his death. What the hell is happening in this chaotic fantasy world?
Rocky came back to his senses but he desperately wanted a leave from this world which looked friendly in the beginning but has now turned into a horrifying enemy. His grim visage and fear-ridden face were a testament to his despondency. Everything looked like a speck on a sombre night. His aroused anxiety propagated deadly scenarios in his mind overwhelming him to the core. Is there any medicine that can heal his lacerated mind? He reminisced about his old days when his father resorted to meditation to curb his evil thoughts. He closed his eyes to start the meditation but the nasty thoughts seemed to curtail his plot. He continued to chant hymns with a loud voice and the power of spirituality seemed to have gripped his mind. The fantasy land manufactured tons of evils to sway his focus but to no avail. Even a poisonous snake slithered towards him but couldn't strike at him owing to the powerful radiance which acted as his armour. The spectacle of unparalleled grandeur was a sight to behold. The profound meditation seemed to have ushered in spiritual energy in his body that augmented his concentration and usurped the evil thoughts. A halo appeared behind his head and all evil creatures that had been cast a spell before prostrated at his feet. Magic conjured up out of thin air as these cursed souls vanished into oblivion. All of a sudden, Rocky appeared back at his house. He just couldn't fathom the experience he had in the fantasy land. He resumed watching cartoons.
