Coffee Shop Date

We met for the first time not intentionally but we did. He seemed ok simple Humble and polite. Not forgetting he was also very handsome with blue eyes and dimples and strong Broad shoulders that were hard not to notice.

At our very first encounter, we spoke for a very long time almost as if we didn't want it to end the conversation that day. But like all things, there is a beginning and an end.

I felt as if I knew him all my life. I felt safe and comfortable and it was clear that he felt the same way too. He didn't say but his action said so much more.

We had coffee and for the rest of the time we talked and talked, we didn't realize how much time had gone by until they announced that the coffee shop was going to close in ten minutes. This meant that it was just about 11 pm that night.

He offered to walk me out to my car. I accepted his offer and even then we talked some more. We were strangers just a few hours ago and now we knew so much about each other.

From then on this was our special meeting place. Now it has been 25years since we met. We have our home and family. Still, we come out for date night together to spend time at the same coffee shop. And we look forward to it as if it is the first time every time.

His laughter has never changed although he had aged. I still love and adore him and still, we talked for a very long time every day.

Even now we still talk about how we met and wonder what happened that day. But whatever happened it was the best day of our life and a new beginning for us both.

Now here we are sharing our story with the hope that it can bring hope to others who are afraid of getting into a relationship after they have had a broken heart.

We were both facing a difficult time in our life when we met but it was a blessing in disguise to meet that day, as that day changed our lives forever.

The happiness we found in each other was and still is a great blessing for us many times things happen in our lives and we cannot explain. But it works out just the way it should no matter what we do.

There I was that day heading to the coffee shop to spend some time not knowing that, that would have been a life-changing day for me.

As I walked into the coffee shop I noticed there were no seats available and the waitress my friend signaled to me there is a table available if I was willing to share it as there was one person there already.

Without thinking or knowing who this person was even before I saw him I accepted the offer because I really wasn't in the mood to drive any further to the next coffee shop which I didn't like going to anyway.

As I walked across to the table that she guided me to I noticed it was a guy oh well how bad could it be I thought least I don't know him and he doesn't know me. He didn't seem like a local so that was good.

As I was about to get seated he looked up at me and said hello and introduced himself promptly even before I could be seated.

He was polite and it was only right for me to respond and so I introduced myself and got seated. He ordered coffee and asked me if I wanted milk or sugar or black coffee.

Well, I didn't expect him to get the coffee for me but he did. Christine my coffee shop friend took the order and came across to serve us. She has been working at this coffee shop ever since it opened and now she is the owner of the shop but she never stopped serving her customers as she did before owning the shop.

She knew all her customers very well. Maybe that's why she offered me to share the table as she knew I wouldn't mind as coming to the coffee shop was more like my escape from everything.

I came almost every day and spent many hours sometimes. Every now and then I offered to help out if the place was busy and she was short of a worker. And so we became good friends.

Now Jason was a new customer this was his first time here and I was right he wasn't a local. He came to our small town to work on a project he got a month ago with a five-year contract.

He had nothing to keep him in his town anymore as he had no family only friends and he and his girlfriend separated some months ago and he saw this as an opportunity to help him move on.

Clearly, he had a lot going on for him he wasn't hesitant about sharing his story with me. And so our story still lives on and on.

This was his second day here and his first visit to the coffee shop. He was staying at a nearby hotel just about one block from the shop. And his place of work was even nearer to where he stayed. Very convenient for him.

We met almost every day after that day at the coffee shop as I spent a lot of time there and we ran into each other so often until one day he asked what time I would be there the next day. This he asked every time before I left to be sure to be there for that time too.

He had to go back to his hometown for a few days and invited me to go with him. I refused and so he left me alone. And it was during those few days I understood how close we became and how much I missed him.

Surly before now we took it for granted that we met for coffee every day as it was a place we both spend time every day. But then it became something more.

The days seem long without him. But I kept hoping that he was returning soon.

he was supposed to be gone for just five days or maybe a few more days if he had to.

On the third day, I don't go to our regular meeting place it didn't feel the same without Paul being there so I decided not to go.

At around 5.30 pm the doorbell rang. Who could it be I wondered, no one ever comes by and I wasn't expecting anyone. Well, I opened the door and to my surprise, it was Paul with a bunch of red roses in their hand and a huge smile on his face.

"My lady I have waited for a long time at the coffee shop and you were not there and so I took it upon myself to find you and make sure that you are well," said Paul to me as I stood motionless so surprised to see him t my door.

Me standing in shock I just stared at him. Wasn't sure what to do but I felt happy and much better than I felt in the last few days since he was gone.

He handed me the flowers and quickly ask if I was well. I So much wanted to tell him how much I missed him but then why should I not like it would have meant anything to him anyway.

But then I asked about his earlier return to town and he then said "I have great reasons for my earlier return I just couldn't day away from one moment more as I missed my coffee date so much"

He looked at me and smiled and I blushed like a teenager. He came closer to me and told me how much he missed me and at that very moment, I felt like I could fly.

But I really wanted to hug him and tell him how much I missed him too. I took my chances and this was one of those moments. As he came closer to me I grabbed him and hugged him so close and I told him how much I missed him and that's the reason why I decided not to go to the coffee shop today as he would not be there.

Not knowing that he was returning earlier. He said he wanted to surprise me but he got the surprise when he waited and when I didn't show up he got worried.

Christine gives him directions to find me. She was even so sure I would be home she even drop him off at my place and left before I got to the door.

Three months later we were married that very same day he proposed to me and I accepted. A very small simple church wedding and two years after we were expecting our firstborn with 2 others after.

We were happy together we took our chances and never gave up on love and each other. We achieved a lot and traveled all over the world together.

We found each other and still have each other today. Never take things for granted it always work out for the best and the way it is supposed to be.

Our journey was never promised to be an easy one but we must have faith trust and hope that things will world out for the best no matter what happens in our life. Never give up.
