Chameleon
Chameleon
What do you want to be when you grow up? This is a common question asked of any child.
Today we read about Madam Curie, I want to be a scientist. I will also invent something and save the world. After a few years, I read about Kiran Bedi in the newspaper, I want to be a Police Officer. My birthday cake is yummy and beautiful, I will be a baker and bake the yummiest cakes in the world. In G.K's book saw a picture of Kalpana Chawla, I want to become an astronaut and explore space.
Whatever a child watches and enjoys, wants to be like that. They are like soft clay which can be molded into shape, or like chameleons which change their color according to their habitat and requirement of catching the prey. They do not know what they actually want to be. Some become what they are asked to. Some don't get options or a chance to choose. Some don't know what they want to be, what will give them happiness.
Whether one is able to decide or not nature doesn't stop working. Gradually humans grow old. Then reach a stage when they don't want to be like anyone because by this time life has already made them someone and they got used to it. At this stage, one can't change, not even wish to change. Other's comment doesn't affect anymore.
