It's been a while since I left my hometown, and I vividly remember there was this one time having an emotional breakdown in a new city, amidst new faces and all I could think of was 'I need to go home'. trust me, It was terrible. Cut to there was this emotionally draining phase of my life, where I had a similar feeling, and even though I was technically already at home, lying in my bed, enjoying a home-cooked meal and my parents nearby, I was still wishing, 'I needed to go home!' and every time I think of this incident I wonder, what is the concept of "home." Is it where our parents are, where our heart resides, where we physically stay, or where our mind finds peace? It's a quest I'm still trying to understand. Isn't it strange how we often find someone so comforting that we use the phrase, 'you feel at home!'

Perhaps, home isn't just about a place with walls and people. Maybe it's a collection of experiences and emotions. It could be the feeling of nostalgia, or maybe like watching a reality show with family in your comfy drawing room, or having a sense of peace sharing a cup of tea with a person in a different city naming the feeling as a home away from home. It might be singing your heart out in the shower, re-watching your favourite series, sharing laughter, and creating memories with friends, regardless of the location.

But, when do we finally settle for a home?

They say you can never be home again, once you are out of your home. Maybe this is true; maybe we, who leave our homes in search of a better life, leave a piece of our heart, a piece of our home, everywhere we go. In the journey of life, we're all seekers, yearning to rediscover that familiar embrace, that familiar essence, that comfort that is often termed as "home".
