It was a chilly monsoon morning... I was sitting by the window, with a cup of coffee in my hand, enjoying the chilled air and the freshness of the new season.

At 7:35 AM, it started drizzling, and gradually thick layers of dark clouds occupied the sky. When all the other birds flew back to their nests, the Jacobian cuckoo slowly came out, and I heard the call of the monsoon. As the raindrops fell on her beak, I could feel her glee, as if she had finally received the fruit of patience after waiting for the monsoon so long when the God of rain answered her call.

By 7:50 AM, it started pouring heavily, and a veil of mist obscured the view. I closed the window, took the book *Thanda Gosht* by Saadat Hasan Manto, got comfortable in my easy chair, and started reading the remaining part...

"My darling, you acted too quickly. But it’s for the better."

But no, my mind was somewhere else... "I miss someone, somewhere," I told myself while gazing at the rain droplets on the window pane, and sighed. It's 8:23 AM, and the rain has stopped, the sunbeam started slanting through the west. It was a brand new day, with new hope, a new beginning, bright and clear. It was a symbol of bliss.
