Being “VIRAL” Boon Or Bane

Being “VIRAL” Boon Or Bane

The catching waves of laughter, the clever new phrases, people trying out hacks are all considered viral social media content.

These three examples have become recognizable across the world. The majority of social media users have most likely seen a lot of content on these topics. This is just the beginning. Many topics simply go viral. People look at them as just content and laugh out, but the people who are being portrayed in those videos suffer. Many people even try to make those painful hard or as they say funny videos without knowing the consequences. “Going viral” can be a boon and a curse. A rather parlous mundane video of a guy intentionally jumping into a dustbin got viral. Slowly I noticed many more videos like that started coming out.

What I fail to understand is, why do people enjoy that. Also, why would people take such risks of hurting themselves, just to look like a fool and have some views? It all might look negative but, why does every person have to post their breakups and relationships and catching their other half cheating. I mean why put it all in the public eye. And who are these people liking videos like these which encourage people to make more? I am not saying that going viral or social media is bad whatsoever. I am grateful to social media because it brings to light a lot of information that news sites fail to deliver

It gives a voice to people. It helps in delivering justice and it gives chance to every person to state their opinions on all matters. What part upsets me is the stupid things going viral. Like a person cutting clothes off in public. I am no follower of the norms created by society but that seems a wee bit too much. Also, the innocent teens, falling as prey for these things, trying to follow trends seems just too much. Hence I end with this small conclusion which I guess I all I can say. Internet and Being The “VIRAL” Person is not an issue if it is for the right reasons. So it is now on all of us to decide. Is it a boon or a bane?
