Beggar Or Giver

So my daily routine begins with hustle bustle Monday to Friday run run, hurry up! And while doing daily chores my most important part of life is travelling via Metro.

So this happened on Tuesday morning at around 11 a.m. in morning, I was bit late to office and was in a super hurry, I packed my lunch box, kept money change in my bag and headed towards metro station, while waiting for lift, I saw a old lady approx 75 yeas of age, wearing shabby clothes and begging for money.

Usually I follow saying written in metro station "DO NOT ENCOURAGE BEGGARS" but that old lady just made me to stop, forget about getting late to office and give her some help in form of money.

She looked at me and said" Beta please give me some money, so I could eat something, now usually people have tendency to buy food and offer needy which I wish I could do at that time. But since there was no food available, I gave her Rs.20-30 change I had. And to my surprise what she told me was really worth and encouraging.

I have many times given money to needy but usually what I get to here as "Blessing " is "may god bless you with handsome husband", or "good children" or "more money "etc.

But this old lady just blessed me with words as " Beta tum khoob tarrreki karo agae badho, sirf pais kamne ke liye nahi ,balki apne jaisi umar ki aur ladkiyo ko badhane aur mauka dene ke liye, taki koi mere jaise budhape mai bheekh na mange (Beta! may you reach for heights in your career not only to earn good money but to help and encourage girls of your age or just like me who can get opportunity in their life and never ever have to beg like her in old age).

These word were like my life changing thoughts and boosting my energy towards work, till now my motive was to earn and have luxury in life, but now it has been changed to earn and give opportunity to needy.

The words from Old lady made me think that was she a Beggar Or Giver? Giver of new thinking and motive.
