Tweet, tweet! Hello there, Bappa online. Here’s your last chance to tweet your prayers and wishes before I take your leave from the 11 days of grand earthly celebrations that you’ve put me through. I must say that like every year, this year too, the arrangements have been picture perfect! Yes, this is Ganesha (the Elephant God), your very own, Bappa speaking.

While I am glad that you all celebrate my presence with this enthusiasm, I would like to mention that I will be more happy if you maintain your social and ecological awareness. I haven’t made any rules to have huge idols or have grand decorations. Could you not do without the non-ecological stuff that’s going to harm you in the long run? Think about it, it’s high time all of you realise that.

For the next year, I have another special request to make. If you really have to play loud music, then do ensure that you arrange for high quality hearing aids for me. Hey, you know what, over the years, that blaring music has caused a strange deafness within me. Am wondering how would I hear your prayers and wishes?

I see lots of hunger, poverty, riots and wars on one hand while on the other the celebrations that you arrange have been getting more and more exorbitantly grand. Why is this differential treatment?

Remember that I reside within each of you and you in me. I am a fan of your godliness, so I want you to re-kindle that in your heart, mind and soul, and in every action of yours. This is Bappa signing off, with a promise to be back until next year, with a hope to see simple yet profound celebrations.

Bless you all!
