And There Was No 'Goodbye'

The clock struck 4. She entered the room. He was packing his bag. She said, 'Tea and snacks are ready, should I bring them?'

He nodded his head in agreement. She brought the snacks, and he started having them slowly. The little one stood in front of the door, watching him. He called her 'come sweety pie, come to papa,' and she ran to him.

The taxi came, and they walked downstairs. She stood holding the little one's hand. Both looked into each other's eyes. In the past 7 years, whenever he had left for abroad for his work, he hugged her, kissed her, and said goodbye with a promise to return back soon. But in the last 1 year, things were not amicable between the two. She had thought that he would never return, but he came just to take back all his certificates.

He looked at her, then turned towards the taxi....she stood there watching him go...there was no goodbye....
