An Episode Of Love
An Episode Of Love
Rampur, a suburban village, is full of modernity where all the villagers enjoy freedom, but within moral boundaries. Coeducational facilities are abundantly available to every class of village boys and girls. Superstitions, untouchability, and casteism are nonexistent among the sentiments of the Rampur folks. All believe in the Adam-Eve alias Manu-Shatarupa philosophy. All qualities of the village Rampur are impossible to describe in a short note. In gist, we can designate it as an ideal village. Under the guidance of Rajani Ma'am, a highly qualified lady and Sarpanch of the village, all are safe and fine.
Sagar Dev College and Mahima Swami High School (from class I to class X) enhance the academic sublimity of Rampur. A girl and a boy named Janaki and Bharat, studying in Class V, stood first in all types of examinations held in the school. Besides, both are competent in inter-school sports, award winners, and Yoga. Bharat and Janaki belong to different castes, i.e., Brahmin and SC respectively; nevertheless, they don't cherish any caste feelings. After all, the Brahmin parents of Bharat and the SC parents of Janaki are so cordial that they hold telephonic discussions with one another nonstop. Every ritual and carnival are observed by both families at regular intervals amiably.
In course of time, both started growing just like a crescent moon. Amid the cordial bond, both classmates passed HSC and were admitted to Sagar Dev College in 10 2 Science, 1st-year Arts. Again, both became classmates and commuted to college regularly from Rampur by bicycle. In due course, they passed Graduation with Computer Science as an optional subject. Simultaneously, while in PG classes, both completed their MCA. God's miracle is praiseworthy. It is impossible to know His disposal over a man's proposition. Young adulthood is a boon bestowed by Almighty. Natural instincts such as amorous activities between a male and female then take place spontaneously. If one desires certain moral discipline in life with the anticipation of establishing an idealistic domestic life in the future, one must detach oneself from all sorts of sexualities. Nevertheless, despite ample scope during their academic career, Janaki and Bharat did not indulge in any such activities as they were humanly ambitious.
After their academic careers were over, they quickly got bank jobs through IBPS and started working as Scale II Officers. Owing to their strict moral characters, they were always liked by all their superiors. It was a miracle of God that, by virtue of their good luck, both of them joined the same bank. In this way, their cordiality towards each other grew up by leaps and bounds. In human society, both positive and negative personalities are found. Although Rampur was a beautiful village, some people created unnecessary problems for the peaceful and eternal lovers. A young man named Gulu, the son of a landlord from the neighboring village of Laxmanpur, cast a jealous eye upon Janaki and Bharat when he learned about their bond. Gulu hired some street ruffians to molest Janaki to force her away from Bharat, as he did not want a woman to advance in Rampur.
One day, while Janaki and Bharat were returning home by bike during leave, Gulu detected them heading to the nearby market. Suddenly, Gulu attacked them with a lathi. Bharat, being a robust and gymnastic young man with immense moral courage, retaliated with full force and made all five hired goons fall to the ground. Then, he started his bike, placing Janaki behind him. Gulu, upon hearing the news, became more vengeful and planned to kidnap Janaki during the upcoming Durgapuja festival. Bharat and Janaki, meanwhile, returned to their routine duties, but Janaki was somewhat nervous. Bharat consoled her, "Dear Jani, why are you fearing Gulu? He can't harm you because I am always with you. I want to remain with you lifelong to build our domestic life. I will marry you, but I have to inform my parents about our eternal love. You should do the same."
Janaki, after a long pause, heard the truthful words bursting fr
om Bharat's heart and felt boundless joy. She expressed her gratitude and greeted Bharat with a kiss, leaving a lipstick mark as a token of love on his cheek. She retorted, "Yes, I will do that, darling. I love you too much. I never want to miss you in my life, no matter what. Trust me, Bharat."
The next day, Janaki and Bharat openly expressed their desire to their parents. Their parents were happy and agreed with their self-proposal of marriage, fixing the date for the coming December.
Time passed, and the month of October approached, during which Durgapuja was celebrated with pomp and grandeur by the villagers of Rampur. Janaki and Bharat were glad for their parents' confirmation, strengthening their emotional bond. They began walking on foot to see the Puja and pay their devotion to Goddess Durga. The festival place was crowded. Gulu, the adamant villain, followed them with his accomplices, carrying knives. However, Bharat was alert beforehand. In the meantime, he was learning martial arts with Janaki at an urban Karate center. When Gulu's hired goons caught hold of Janaki's hand, she, along with Bharat, immediately charged at them. The goons were severely wounded. Moreover, the public, furious upon learning the truth, captured the goons and handed them over to the police. All onlookers appreciated the young lovers for their gallantry and blessed them for a bright future.
Before the marriage date, they spent their time romantically. One day they visited the seashore, and another day they spent time in the village grove, gossiping about past stories and planning their future. Janaki said, "Imagine, darling, when we'll have our own children, and they call us Daddy and Mommy. How would you feel?" Bharat replied, "Just like little stars fondled by the Sun and Moon with a hot and cool touch." "Thanks, dear. You are a very romantic would-be husband," Janaki responded.
The assault on Bharat and Janaki spread throughout the area like lightning. The rumor reached Rajani Devi, the Sarpanch. She came to Janaki's house to learn the details. Since Gulu's village was under the same Gram Panchayat, Rajani Devi immediately biked to Gulu's house and warned him. She strictly advised, "See, Gulu! Your ruffianism has crossed the limit. Both Janki and Bharat are the jewels of our village, Rampur. Their love is based on strict moral discipline. You had them attacked by your hired goons. If you do it again, I will have you taken into police custody." Rajani Devi's words frightened Gulu, and his parents were also informed. After that, Gulu was subdued.
December arrived. Amid the wintry environment, the marriage ceremony was celebrated very simply in the Shiv Temple. The marriage was simple and idealistic, with only the chanting of Vedic mantras by the priest, feasting with kith and kin, relatives, and bank staff members, without any public show. Amid the encircling gaiety and enthusiastic atmosphere, the sacred marriage ceremony was completed. Janaki and Bharat became spouses to each other. Truth always conquers. No negativity can cover it. One day, it must come to light. This was the case with Janaki and Bharat. Sunny eternal love can never be covered by the rusty cloud of carnal love. Even if it is covered, it must be for a short while. Gulu also attended the ceremony, having been invited by Bharat, and apologized before all openly. He said, "May the Lord bless the couple with a long and healthy life." After this, he handed over a presentation envelope containing a banker's cheque for ₹ one lakh to Bharat's father. On the fourth night, the couple entered their married life with ecstasy and enjoyed a perfect romantic embrace and kisses. Janaki whispered, pointing to the oil painting of Radha and Krishna, "Darling, please behold the eternal picture on the wall, inspiring us to transform our eternal love into conjugal love and become dad and mom in due course of time." Bharat, after confirming Janaki's standpoint with a counter kiss, spread the woolen blanket over her body and joined her under it to enjoy a marvelous wintry erotic sleep.
