Understanding a girl or a woman’s life is really difficult, she has to face a lot of ups and downs be it her personal life or professional life. This is a story of a mother-daughter duo who faced all the obstacles in their life with a smile.

Devi a girl with a lot of hope and happiness was born in a normal Indian household where the family pretended to be happy on the outside but never talk to each other from the inside. Her mother Shushma was delighted to see her daughter for the very first time in her arms but was sad as well. In her mind, only one thought was going on how will she raise Devi. For a new mother, it is quite natural to think this way but this horror was the reality of Shushma. Her husband wasn’t supportive of her and her family just forgot that she ever existed. Only one thing that was always there with her was her job and she had Devi. From day one Shushma and Devi were on their own. As the days went by handling the baby and the job was getting really difficult. Shushma with a broken heart had to leave her kid at a daycare centre so that she could go to the job and earn money. Devi never even knew what was going on around her, what could you expect out of a baby. From day one Shushma’s mother-in-law was not happy at all that the first child is a girl child. She immediately asked her to have a second child and hoped it to be a boy so that he can carry the name forward of the family. Shushma being a fierce woman objected to this idea immediately and in this matter her husband was in support of her. As the days went by surviving in their own family became very difficult. But they had each other to overcome all the outcomes. Shushma’s mother-in-law always had a crooked corner for her daughter, she didn’t wish well for her. Quite contrary she had her own daughter and a granddaughter whom she adored the most, quite an irony right. Well, things were going well until one day Devi got seriously ill when she was just six months old. The doctor said that she was very critical and won’t survive. Shushma had lost her mind as she didn’t know what to do. Her mother-in-law came and almost said that she won’t survive and Shushma lost her mind. She knew that in this world no one is there for her and her daughter, they were on their own. There is a saying for whom no one cares god would always be there for them and it was proved correct as Devi survived the illness. As Devi grew up everyone saw her as a privileged child as both her parents had great jobs. But no one even knew what she had gone through to receive such privileges. For six months Devi was staying at a daycare centre. At first, it was good as she was little she didn’t understand much, but as time went by the hours became long and no one was left to play with her. Even when her relatives would come to visit they won’t even consider taking care of her instead they would ask her mother to drop her at the daycare center as staying at home would spoil her. Devi was thrown out of her own house. In the long run, Devi learned to live on her own and understood her mother’s situation. Shushma and Devi have their own world and they both enjoy each other’s company. It is rightfully said that bad times don’t go by easily but they are not permanent.

The story here depicts how the mother and daughter learned how to live in any kind of situation. They found their happiness in every situation and that’s what made them tough for this cruel world.
