A Sinister Night

It was few miles away from the Lake View point. He had heard before that the place, once used to be the housing board for the immigrants. Later it became an inhabited settlement. It puzzled him hard how this person chose to live in this remote corner for a livelihood.

The population of this town has been extinct for the last few years. There we're many theories pertaining to it but they we're never proved and are left inconclusive. Crime records reveal many mysterious murders, burglaries, anonymous threats and attacks on civil servants, kidnappings etc. Drug, mafia had once thrived with gangsters clashing for wealth and power.

Political instability added more soberness to the prevailing plethora of things. His observant eyes looked around for unknown threats. He made his way to him. There were no signs of danger and he moved stealthily. He suspected something moving cautiously in silhouettes. He couldn't make it out in the dark. Lighting out a flash lamp would invite unwanted trouble.

After struggling with the bunch of master keys he entered the house. Click. He could hear irregular sounds of very low noise trailing way in an unprecedented direction. Before he could react "thud" went down a baseball bat on his head. Everything came to a still....
