A Short Horror

Kate sat in bed scrolling through her phone, it was a cold November night, no one else was home. The wind was howling, and the trees rustling, 

Suddenly the lights switched off with a slight harsh click. Kate stared around the room rather horrified then said in a loud bold voice "Oh haha I know it's you, Dave, so stop pretending."

The deafening silence echoed around the room and it seemed to Kate as if the wind became louder and more violent 

She shuddered, her imagination began to play tricks in her mind, she suddenly thought of demons and ghosts and monsters, but quickly removed the thoughts from her mind and said under her breath "It's just Dave, that little pest, trying to scare me as usual" then she said louder "Alright you little pest stop pretending, I know damm well it's you!"

No reply, the painful silence continued.

Kate sighed got off her bed and switched the light back on, muttering under her breath about how she will slap her little brother if he dares to switch off the light again.

She got back onto her phone when suddenly the lights switched off, and the TV turned on, the show that played was unknown to her, but it seemed strangely familiar, then she realized why. It was her basement! She gasped then exhaled calmly and said not so calmly "Dave you better stop this pointless prank" 

She stared at the TV and saw some movement down in the basement, she decided to turn the TV off and switch the lights on.

5 minutes later she was sitting peacefully on her bed humming to her favorite song, and then she received a call from an unknown number.

She groaned and ignored it, but her phone wouldn't stop ringing, so she picked it up and before she could talk someone said rather loudly "Hey sis, it's Dave, I am sorry I am so late coming home, mum wanted to say that she and Dad are on there way home and I am staying over at my friend Jim's house" and with that, he hung up. Kate was so annoyed she tried to call him back to tell him that it was rude of him to stay at Jim's house when they were gonna watch a film together that night and besides he had her phone charger.

Then she remembered the events of a few minutes ago and was rather horrified, if Dave is at Jim's house then who was switching the lights on and off, and who was taking a video of the basement?

She grabbed a flashlight and decided to go to the basement.

The stairs creaked loudly, she caught a glimpse of movement from the corner of her eye. She stuttered and said almost shouting "Who's there? Dave, I will beat you up if this is one of your stupid pranks! Dave?"

She walked further Into the basement. She gagged at the smell, it smelt horrible down here, she decided to see what it was, and there in the corner lay her brother's dead body, in a pool of blood, she screamed, just then she felt a hand touch her neck and a smooth voice whispered,

Hello Kate

On the 24th of August 2019, Kate and her brother were found dead in their own basement, the killer was a psychopath known as the silent killer,

The killer is still on the loose to this day
