A memory so beautiful

A memory so beautiful

Asif and I decided to visit the 99 cafeteria, which is located at 52, Vivekananda Rd, near Dominos, Azad Hind Bag, Machuabazar, Kolkata. We sat in the corner and not realising that he noticed my distant gaze, a telltale sign that I was lost in the labyrinth of my memories. The clatter of trays and the hum of conversation faded into the background as my eyes glazed over, lost in a world only I could see.

I didn't realise my fingers absentmindedly tracing patterns on the table, a subconscious gesture as I  relived moments from the past. A faint smile tugged at the corners of my lips, hinting at the bittersweet nature of my reminiscence.

Silently, he sat and kept watching me, a silent observer of the private show playing out behind those dreamy eyes. He wondered what memories were dancing through my mind—perhaps moments of joy, love, or even sorrow, each memory painting a vivid picture in my imagination.

Despite the noise and clutters of trays around us, I felt a sense of intimacy in sharing this moment with Asif. He respected the sanctity of my memories, understanding that they were a part of what made me who I am.
