You don't have to get old

You can't help getting older, but you don't have to get old

I heard that from a wise man I met along the road

Spoke of getting up in years, yet aging just a bit

He cleared his throat, looked at me and told me quite a bit

Age is just a number, a false reality

I may feel as old as you or you as old as me

I know you've often heard it said you're as old as you may feel

The wize man on the road told me that quote indeed was real

He emphasized three things that everyone of us must do

Get proper rest

Eat well and work at fitness too

Then he said there's more to it than how long we survive

Said we need a reason to want to stay alive

I paid close attention to all he had to say

He preached we need be grateful for every passing day

Listen to the wize man I met along the road

We can't help getting older but we don't have to get old
