When The Time Comes

For the world to ask, "how are you?" in a casual way

That no longer acknowledges your broken heart.

When society has reached a point in dismissing your pain

Due to their own expectations of the length of time for healing.

When you no longer feel comfortable expressing

The ache within yourself to others for fear of judgment.

I will validate the existence of the feelings that may still thrive inside of you.

The agony that still breathes in your soul.

And tell you it's okay to still not be okay.
