What God?
What God?
What God do you talk of?
Such God that permits you to kill others?
What God do you ask me to worship?
Such God that accepts nutritious food
To be wasted upon the stony heads
Of his countless statues,
When humans are dying of starvation?
What God do you ask me to fear?
One that asks me to empty my pockets
To earn his grace?
I will not follow such God.
Such religion is a cult of mindless human-sheep.
Such religion is the cause of uncountable wars.
I will not be an instrument in this cold crusade
I will not be a part of your God wars.
Truth is, God is not a celestial being
With castles in cloud; gilded in gold.
God is nature and nature is God.
God is in every living being, in every speck of dust.
God is there when the sun rises in the east
Splattering the morning sky in hues of orange and gold.
God is there when you look in your lover's eyes
And see only the truth.
God is there when you gaze at your mother
For the first time ever, as a baby.
God is everywhere. In the valleys and rivers and mountains and oceans.
Eternal. Omnipresent. Omnipotent.
He does not discriminate. He does not divide.
He is not partial to those performing elaborate rituals
Or those murderers killing in his name.
We are too puny to affect God.
Realise there is truly no shortcut to success.
Realise that all the trials and tribulations
Are your rewards and punishments
You can only learn lessons from them
And try not to repeat the same mistakes.
Beware my friends!
Beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing.
Beware of those who rob you
In the name of God.
Because the universe is God.
The universe doesn't need your offerings
Nor does it ask you to worship it with
Flowers and blood.
So sit back and behold its glory.
Admire the universe like you admire God.
