Was it Really a Waste?

Was it Really a Waste?

Far at a distance stood a loney palm tree.

Scattered were its fruits on the golden sand bed.

Some of its sweet fruits were already buried like a corpse,

And some were partially buried

Like a rotten corpse peeping from its sepulchre.

The palm tree withstood the desert storm,

It fought against the terrible heat and the wrecking cold.

It brought forth dates. Yes, it did.

For many many years.

No humans used to be near that tree.

No not even one to taste its fruit.

Was it a waste, then?

Maybe, nature had planted the palm tree there by mistake!

It was fruitful but for whose benefit?

A wasted tree!

Of course a wasted tree at the wrongest spot possible.

A wasted tree with no purpose!

A wasted ancient tree with no one to desire its fruits for!

A wasted tree that is a burden to this earth!

A wasted tree in the midst of the sand dunes!

I saw a rosy starling flying happily towards its own palm ...
