War With Love
War With Love
Being in love with a person who is keen on pushing you away or blaming you for his mistakes has its own tragedy attached. This poem highlights how a person in love sees it as a war/battlefield and the peace is associated with the same person. Love here becomes the war and something that gives them peace. It’s war and peace.
Take my all ;
Leave me to fall;
Oh, you dear doll!
You just needed some Constance?
I pretended to get ashore;
I pretended like there was more.
I say as I lay awake on my bed
With petals singing
“He loves me- He loves me not”
You just needed some balance?
I pretended to be amused;
I pretended to be unbruised.
You needed some space?
I pretended to be fine
As I dine for nine.
Now where did your vows go?
Forgotten and flown into the abyss or
waiting for me to get more sore?
Where did the pain go?
Away with the lip stains on your shirt?
Or down the drain with my daily chores?
Where did the vows go?
Visiting you on weekends
On your meetings a while ago,
Or movie dates with colleagues with the flow?
Where is my marital glow?
Where did the vows go?
