Under The Ash I Sat

Under The Ash I Sat

Under the Ash tree I lay and saw

The beautiful scenery without a flaw

In it I found my presence a disturb

Ruining the perfect stature for the trees and herbs

Under the Elm tree I sat and thought

Of every blessing in disguise I had got

The curses that have always made me fall

Have helped me overcome problems to stand tall

Under the Oak tree I lay and felt

The wisdom in in that age had dealt

The anger that had over some me sometime before

Seemed to have passed through my hands like sand on the shore

Under the Poplar tree I sat and wept

Revealing all that I had felt

The pain, chaos, darkness and pessimism life's giving

The reasons why I doubted my living

Under the Birch tree I sat and dreamed

That I had achieved all and everything seen

But looking at the ridges in its bark

I understood that I still had many more ideas in the dark

Under the Maple tree I sat and wished

For all in my mind was mist

The mist of complicated ideas and staring at its leaves I understood

Many had helped me overcome the hurdles in my life while staying in hoods

My life has had many ups and downs

But you tree have never on my face left a frown

Even after twenty years today

Under the Ash I sit and never go astray...
