The Flower of Life

Every day, a minuscule part of our life refrains to stand by,

Like the beast waited for belle to come, it never happens in real life,

Petals were made to fall.

They wilt if you do not water them,

They do not scent if no one smells them,

Moreover, when they are separated from their roots,

They no longer grow or bloom like they used to.

Us, have replicated them,

We were built to wilt, to regrow and bloom,

We were taught to sustain hardships, hurt and oppression,

Just to learn that a flower can grow from a cemented wall. 

We bring happiness in other’s lives,

We are blessed to have lived through all these decades,

We are flowers that need to be taken care of, we are a bounty of happiness.
