Grandma's House

I remember those vacations at Grandma's

Huge vast house, with a big entrance gate

A wooden gate with heavy iron bars and 

Two huge galleries on both sides with a

Sitting arrangements for big people visiting

The house and which we children occupy

For afternoon indoor games and gossips.

No work, no tensions and just fun !!!!!

They owned cows and so plenty of milk,

Mango and sugarcane and Guava coming

From own fruit garden and trunks full of 

Foodgrains from own farms and fresh

Jaggery made from sugarcane juice and

Varieties of sweets and delicious dishes

For breakfast and lunch and dinner and

If a wedding of maternal uncle or cousin

Then double fun and enjoyment !!!!!!!

Witnessing such a lot of prosperity and

Richness in kind and fun of huge joint

Family is truly a blessing and pride to

Share with school friends and neighbours

Truly a pleasure of joint family is beyond

Everything and needs to be a part of it.

To make those proud childhood moments

A part of your life and cherish it !!!!!!!!!

And on top of all those, the love, care and affection from all maternal uncle and aunts and elder cousins and grandma is Cherry on the top !!!
