Neem tree

Neem tree

It was my favourite place

A backyard and tall Neem tree

I was a lonely yet a happy kid

After returning from school

And after having my lunch

And when it was nap time

I often used to escape from house

To come and sit under neem tree

Was my favourite place and pass time

I still remember that tall dense tree

And small white delicate flowers on it

And the cool breez blowing there

A peaceful place with no-one around

I used to make drawing on ground

When the tree is laden with fruits

Those green fruit bunches looks amazing

And when fruits turned yello

And used to fall on ground

I used to collect and count them

I had a strong bonding with that tree and the surrounding

I never got bored of that tree and that place

I tried climbing up on tree quite often

But tree was too tall and rough

When I grew up still I used to go

And do my homework under the tree

And enjoyed reading storybooks

So calm and cool that place was

Never wanted to go back home

Till someone call me loudly

Never can forget that happiest time

Me and that Neem tree

and that favourite place of mine!
