The Road Not Taken

“To the sound of the bees, birds, and breeze – let the mind awaken,

Go forth, be bold, and take the road not taken…”

Heard this many times….

Read this many more times…. 

Curious, I wished to comprehend what the phrase meant,

Was it the literal meaning or about the path less spent? 

Taking it factually, 

I resolved to do things contrarily;

Seeing a long line in front of every elevator,

I decided to charge up my personal carburetor; 

‘I shall take the steps’ – to one and all I roared,

Not realizing my office was on the eighth floor!!

Huffed and Puffed as I ascended, 

With each painful tread, my O2 levels descended! 

Virtually collapsing upon reaching my destination,

I realized the ‘road-less-taken’ is definitely no celebration.

Will stick to the metaphoric road now - in my plucky quest,

Shall update you guys when I take the test!
