The Red Revolution

The Red Revolution

In the shadow of the night, something is creeping on.

Dangerous and deadly think of safe nights now bygone,

It's the telltale sign of revolution spilling over the streets.

Bards singing of heroes in bylanes as popular sangeet,

Emotions are running high and unforgiven are our father's sins.

If there is no red in my flag flying high,

There will be red in my eyes and on the streets.

Let this be a message to all the jawans and all the fleets,

The red is the color of my heart bleeding,

When I see a naked child on the road sweeping.

What is the lad trying to cover,

The incompetence of my generation or the almighty his parents' worship?

Was this the same world gifted to us by our elders,

It is drowning in screams of the agonized and black money's torrents.

Will the black knight overtake the white knight on this checkered board?

Will the good lose the battle and anarchy reign with bloody gore?

Listen to the innocent cries of the newborn and their pure pleas,

Let us gift them a world of love and peace.

Let us come together all and swear, today begins the revolution that the brave will bear.
