The Night

The starry sky and the

lonely moon is ever so tranquil!

The passing clouds gliding over 

the glistening lake is a pleasant sight!

I am lying awake,

 the silence so loud!

Is it because my thoughts 

are loquacious when the world is quiet?

In the darkest hours of the night,

 I find a place where I shall never feel alone!

Among the shimmering stars

and the bright sky, I shall always have some company!

Everything except my thoughts so still!

The night is such a patient listener,

 keeping all of my secrets and that of many others!

The night seems more alive and gracefully shaded

than the colourful day, with deep blues, pearly whites and some dusky figures!

Night gives us dreams to believe in...

and dreams are never boring!

Life seems dull when you can't dream!

At times the night is mellifluous symphony,

the croaking frogs, the chirping crickets chatter,

the air filled with quiet creaking,

and people softly speaking.

It seems so dark at night…

the night itself doesn't depict darkness!

 It is the hope to gain visibility 

to the farthest!
