Trees

She wears a delicate dress of emerald green leaves,

her arms rich with fruits so succulent and the flowers so luscious!

She sways from side to side to the touch of the wind,

dancing ever so lithely.

She stands tall and resilient,

her branches spread wide and held high,

spurning to bow or bend

rather she reaches up to the sky!

Sprouting with life throughout spring,

Spread out leaves shading the green grass in summer,

Bursting crimson, orange and gold leaves in autumn,

Come winter her leaves are shed but her beauty not compromised!

Be it spring or fall, she stands tall!

She caresses the creatures of her home

bestowing them with shelter and food.

She cools the air and invites rain,

She is strong and kind

she is selfless and she provides!

Wild storms and harsh weather,

yet she stands the test of time!
