The Forbidden Flight
The Forbidden Flight

The little bird, fluttered hard
Perched on a twig, near her nest
Next to her, mother stood guard
Telling her babe now to rest
Neither a babe nor grown up yet
She has just learnt how to fly
She knows not that the oasis there
Is only a clever snare
She ventures further but little does she know
That the bait is carefully laid
One wrong move, will surely prove
Why her mother's nest was so safe
"Stay babe", the mother says
"Wait till you perfect your flight"
But the thoughts that cross her little heart
Add to the hunter's delight
The golden grains in the silver cage
Were the hunter's alluring ways
The young bird flew but little she knew
That the oasis was to be her grave
