The Bucket List
The Bucket List
Lying there on one’s deathbed,
Breathing one’s last breaths
Many thoughts swirl through one’s minds
All the dreams and desires one had and wanted to accomplish in one’s life
Lying there on one’s deathbed,
One regrets not fulfilling all those dreams and desires
Burning inside him so badly,
Pushing one, urging one, to do what they loved and not be restricted
By one’s financial status, pressure from others, mental limitations and worries
Lying there on one’s deathbed
One wishes so badly he had achieved all he wanted to from life
Instead of doing the same, boring thing again and again
Working in jobs one was never interested in
Loving and spending time with people whom one never enjoyed being with
Doing things out of compulsion or fear or social pressure, which was thought was unnecessary
One could have made his life so eventful, so fulfilling, so beautiful
One could have
Climbed mountains
Dived deep in the sea
Trekked through forests and grasslands
Written books, songs, articles
Painted pictures, played instruments, directed films
Played all the sports one had loved to when one was a kid
Visited islands, oceans, deserts, savannas-
Experienced all the beautiful things mother nature had to offer
Lying there on his deathbed,
He regrets wasting his own life,
Not making the most from his time spent on earth,
Wishes to start over once again, afresh
Properly this time
