The Beauty And The Beast

There is a villain in every story

A wicked witch of the west,

A wicked witch of the east

An evil stepmother... A monster, a beast.

What does this villain look like?

Some people may ask,

It does not always have a black cape

or a witch's broom or a big scary mask.

I have a villain of my own

But she is kind of hard to see,

She has a really good disguise

And she looks a lot like me.

Mirror, mirror on the wall

who is the fairest of them all,

or maybe it's a monster, a monster inside of me

Tell me, tell me just what do you see?

Rip me apart

And tear me to shreds,

Tell me who I am

or tell me who I am not,

Tell me what I need

or tell me what I got.

You bring out my scars

My sadness, my fears, and my aggressions,

You cause me a lot of envy

And then you leave me with depression.

Deprive me of my confidence

And destroy my self-esteem,

You cause me to fear judgement

And you make me yell and scream.

You taunt me with your words

Like this is some kind of a game,

But when it comes down to it

There is just nobody else to blame.

This villain is not a creature

or a devil sent from hell,

No, it is not a witch or a demon

This villain is myself.

I try to fight it

But it will not stop,

It is never going to cease

It is mean, It is a liar.

There is a villain in every story
