The Arrival Of Monsoon

The Arrival Of Monsoon

The first day of rain

Makes heat go in vain

The parched earth

Jumps with mirth

The sheer raindrops

Brightened all the crops

The gust of wind sang and danced,

Which made us feel quite dazed.

The lightning and the drizzle,

Just like a shrill whistle.

The smell of petrichor emanated,

And made us sedated.

The cold air made us fresh,

And the leaves were pressed.

The rain began sending fumes from the land,

And people running on the streets hand in hand.

The rain brings merry,

And the trees looked starry.

The joy of monsoon,

Is like a full moon.

The arrival of monsoon,

Will return soon.
