Strength of Character

Is strength of character defined by Integrity?

Or is it resilience and responsibility?

A strong character is a gem to behold,

No crown of gold or sword of might,

Can match the power of Inner Light……………………………… (1)

Treading along Life’s journey,

One faces challenges in varied shapes and size.

Strength of character demands being principled and courageous,

When storms hit and dreams depart,

When sorrows weigh upon the heart………………………. ….…. (2)

Strength of character is defined,

By the virtue of persevering in spite the odds,

When failures, disappointments hit along the road,

When Life turns grey,

And hope seems lost along the way………………………………. (3)

As we scan through History,

We find many noble souls that shone bright,

With blemisless characters that set them apart,

Mother Teresa was one such being,

Who rendered compassionate service to every human being……………… (4)

The pride of our nation,

Adhered to principles and committed to a larger cause,

Was lovingly referred to as ‘Bapu’

Depicted great strength of character,

He devoted his Life for the freedom of us all………………………………. (5)

The great Vivekananda, torch aflame,

India still remembers his name,

Your life became a timeless call,

To find our strength and give us all…………………………………….  (6)

And long beyond Life’s final day,

The light they gave will find its way,

For those who live with hearts sincere,

Leave footprints time cannot erase……………………………………   (7)
