State Of Living
State Of Living
Strands of grey hairs stand as a mute witness to life’s many affairs
The grey cells with its diminishing returns
What and how of life now overturned.
The wrinkles on the skin like the rings of the tree
Speaks volumes of the years gone by
For some pacemakers in their heart as a standby.
The pulls and pressure of life has taken a toll
Not a day passes without a pill to control.
Ease of living now accompanied by diabetes
Dieting without sweets, daily dying it is.
Organs of the stomach got stretched to their limit
Acidity and gas, many a food one has to prohibit.
The creaks of the joint
Haunts one each minute.
A general slow- down in life
Without any bailout, gritting it is.
Back pain comes and goes on a frequent visit
Surrender to one’s life who can fight its kismet
A good sleep at night, a daily bliss
Never give it a miss and find yourself in an abyss.
This is the state of life, oh! dear friend
A little bit different in some case which one can mend
In the last innings each in his/her zone
Face it with a smile, for there is nothing to mourn.
