Sizzling favourites

Sizzling favourites

I like food that crackles and sizzles and is served piping hot

It cannot be made at home or be an instant meal that's store bought

I'm talking, of course, of sizzlers, with paneer and sauces and vegetables and rice

Oozing with delicious goodness, harbouring flavours and doused with spice

Though it burns my tongue and I have to wait impatiently to devour it

I still go back for more and more, because I truly savour it

It's hard for me to choose a favourite food, I love Italian and Mexican and Chinese cuisine

But no bite of any of them can make me feel as at home, feel as complete

There's a place in my city where I go to eat sizzlers exclusively and drink a watermelon cooler

And even though I've been there hundreds of times, the next time couldn't come any sooner
