God's Work

Social work is God's work and God's work is charity 

When it all comes to down it, human beings are plagued with disparity 

Some are born with silver spoons in their mouths 

While so many others live without food or a house 

Women are disproportionately affected by physical and sexual violence 

And yet when men are subject to the same, there's an uncomfortable silence 

The people of my community are treated like outcastes 

And so many are forced into demeaning jobs because of their castes 

Colourism is way too common and even endorsed by major beauty brands 

With so many children abused and trafficked, we have a crisis on our hands 

Animals are treated as lesser than, abused and starved 

I would do all the work in the world if some of this injustice could be halved 

And social work or charity really isn't going to solve it all 

But it's a step in the right direction and a start, no matter how small
