The Post Monsoon Sun

The Post Monsoon Sun

Amidst the dark and gloomy crowds,

Lay a spark of light.

Slowly crumbling up the shroud,

the Sun finally came in sight.

Soft shadows sprang up,

As the Sun shined shyly.

After days of dirty shoes and mud,

The world looked lively.

Not very far from ears,

The temple bells did resonate.

And there howled a lonely dog,

Calling for its mate.

Owing to the cool breeze,

The trees swayed lazily.

And o'er their green branches,

The birds sang merrily.

The branches were damp and soft,

Water dripping from the leaves.

And a lazy cow sat beneath,

Munching her gobbled sheaves.

A new shine prevailed,

On every leaf and flower.

And by the window, I sat and wondered,

If the paradise had descended lower.
