In Memory Of You
In Memory Of You
When there is rain and it's wet everywhere,
The thunder rumbles and lightning blares,
I stand at my window and constantly stare.
Looking at the path that you had walked away through once,
Longing the steps to be retraced someday.
On lazy afternoons, lit by sunshine,
Beneath the orange sky, the weather sublime,
I look at your letters all the time.
I see a sentence without a full stop,
Longing it be continued someday.
On quiet nights, filled with stars,
My eyes wide awake, my heart and mind at war,
I look with teary eyes at the guitar,
Whose strings had been strum by your fingers so passionately,
Longing to hear the tunes again someday.
In a distant land, far far away from home,
When I feel scared and not welcome,
I look at your picture on my phone.
And I wish you were with me to comfort and care,
Longing it to be real someday.
On soothing mornings of the spring
When I hold a mug of coffee to drink,
I notice on my fingers holding it, the ring,
Which promised me that you would never abandon,
Longing the promise to be fulfilled someday.
