Sensuous

Sensuous

It was our wedding night

He entered room, turned off the lights

Full moon was smiling outside

Eager to witness happenings inside

Like inquisitive peeping cousins,

Invading privacy, that was our right

You lifted my veil, shivers ran up my spine

What followed took me by surprise

Instead of going straight for the kill

Diving into me piercing the membrane

You assured I could take my time

In consummating union of marriage

Your strong fingers carressed my face

Gently explained would give me my space

Not to expect what romantic novels said

Would hurt for both; our first experience

Novices both at this esctatic life phase

Could wait, till all fears were put to rest

We slowly disrobed without a sound

Till our clothes lay heaped on the ground

Lay naked side by side, eyes meeting eyes

Bodies touching, kindling fire deep within

Guided by instinct fitted into each other pleasure

Far exceeding the pain that was feared

The moon disappeared under a cloud cover

Curiosity quelled, hid in shame; a voyeur

Pity missed out as we tried again and again

Exploring each other, fine tuning love game

Like violin playing music reaching new heights

Bodies had not known, could take such flights

Lily white bed linen, hibiscus red stained

Put away in the closet, replaced with fresh linen

Tried washing them out with the best detergent

But the marks forty-two years later, still remain

Babes in the woods then, a smile cannot contain

A reminder of our first night, groping in darkness

Pros now in creating new music with finesse
