Self Love
Self Love
Every morning that I wake,
The sun feels brighter,
Birds chirp a little louder,
Winds go past me better,
Then they used to before.
I feel free,
With every breath I take,
And fly higher than ever,
With all my dreams,
Then I could ever do before you left.
Every night I sleep soundly,
With the pillows that ain't wet,
And hugging myself tightly,
Cause I am not lonely like before,
I am now there for myself.
I smile with my yellow teeth,
And wear short sleeves with my scarred wrists,
Lift up my broken spirits every time,
That I walk down the streets,
With none judging me like before.
And now I love myself,
And I ain't afraid to look in the mirror,
I know my strengths and weaknesses well,
And I will be there for myself in the tough times,
Cause I don't need you anymore.
