School Days...
School Days...
Yesterday I happened to visit my school,
I was suddenly filled with memories cool;
Greetings to the watchman uncle,
Stopping midway struggling with shoe buckle;
How disciplined we used to be!
Queuing up for the assembly;
The games period on Saturday,
Always made us yell 'hooray!'
The swings and slides and merry-go-rounds,
That game of making different sounds;
Christmas candies and Diwali sweets,
That excitement of getting birthday gifts;
Those bonds between best friends,
That always used to be in trend;
Learning maths was always fun,
To make binary, zero was paired up with one;
And understanding English Grammar,
Was no less than climbing a tall tower!
Yet that struggle was sweet enough,
To give us the thrust to keep it up;
Each morning I waited for the bus to come,
To take me to my second home and have such fun;
Each teacher loved us just like mom,
They also made us brave to face the storm;
I didn't know what to say or feel,
Everything just played like a reel;
Though I wished to be adult then,
Today, I wish to be that school-going kid again!
