Proverbs of Earth

From the depths of the blackest forest-

my soul screams as it tries to unshackle the binds of hell,

in aims to the promise of an everlasting freedom.

But from my gorge and with my endless turmoil a seething,

I am tethered to the murky grounds which harness my swollen feet.

And the hounds of hell grow ever so closely to mine body,

they're mouths a foaming and filled with the blood of sinners.

Yet beyond the horizon stands the shining monolith,

with worshipers bowing like ancient apes to the sight of fire.

And mid the approaching hounds and the dancing fools, 

at once flew over a bright bird carrying the serpent in its talons.

All at once everything ceases and bear witness to the glorious sky,

for he has saved the forsaken land and all of it's residents.

I am prisoner no more.
