Tragedy Crime Others

The light seeped in through the small hole on the wall,

I wondered if it were the moon rays from the sky that decided to fall...

My senses had grown accustomed to the stench that had filled my nostrils the moment I first woke up here,

The smelly, dirty room didn't bother me anymore as my mind left behind it's fear...

In the dim light I watched mice scurrying past each other,

I remembered how I used to scream upon seeing them and huddled in a corner...

Now their presence seemed much less scarier than that of the men who entered the room to satisfy their sexual cravings,

I had stopped fighting back for what seemed like weeks ago, as it always led to being drugged or severe beatings...

My soul had now stopped blaming myself for having ventured out with my so called boyfriend to this isolated place,

Where I was drugged for the first time by the men he had offered me for sales...

Since then I've lost the count of days, weeks or a month,

As I just wish to be freed from this prison by either the law or by death...
