Preparations At Anandpur

Preparations At Anandpur

Guru Gobind bore a great loss at tender age

The martyrdom of father with patience n courage

Sikhs to learnt to accept courageously this loss

Popularity of Sikhism in North India rose manifold

People came to Anandpur to learn more about

Sikhism and inspiration behind  the martyrdom

They paid homage to the new Guru Gobind Rai

And brought all types of numerous gifts for him

The Sikhs of Kabul sent him a beautiful canopy

Made of richly embroidered heavy silk studded

With precious n semi precious stones of different

Colours for protecting his throne from sun n rain

Those who saw it were wonderstruck by its beauty

Different landscapes n designs were so appealing

And soon its fame had spread far and wide to the chagrin of some jealous kings of the mountains

Guru Teg Bahadur met Raja Ram Rai a feudal

Lord of Goripur who was helped by the Guru

To gain influence in the King's court and thus

Secure the future of his son and his family

Raja Ram Rai died and his wife Swaranmati

Came all the way from Assam to Anandpur

With her son Rattan Rai to express her

gratitude to the Ninth Guru Teg Bahadur

She found the same glory and bliss in the

Tenth Guru Gobind Rai and offered a gifted

Elephant which was trained to do many actions

Along with  many other gifts to Guru Gobind Rai

Raja Ratan Rai also presented Guru a fivefold

Weapon which looked like a small sword and

On pressing a button turned into a gun and on

Turning from joint converted into a spear

Raja Ram Singh of Mughal court was in Assam

At the time of Guru Teg Bahadur's martyrdom

He came to Delhi and Aurangzeb went to Ajmer

He visited Anandpur and presented five horses.

Guru Gobind Singh like Guru Hargobind indicated

That most welcome gifts would be weapons, horses and money to raise a strong army keeping

In mind the need of coping with the turbulent times
