Prasadi Elephant
Prasadi Elephant

Prasadi was the name of elephant
Presented to Guru Gobind Singh
Along with many other gifts
By Raja Rattan Rai of Assam at the
Time of his visit to Anandpur
It was a short statured creature with
A round white mark on his forehead
And a white streak on its back and tail
It looked extremely cute and beautiful,
Trained to perform many unusual feats
It washed and dried Guru's feet
when he came to the congregation,
also put saffron mark on his forehead
And waved a whisk over him
when he sat on his throne
Apart from that he brought back
The arrows to Guru when he
Playfully threw those from bow
Prasadi also held the torch in front
Of Guru a
t night time travel
Parsadi soon became famous
In hill territory and instantly
Invited the envy of Bhim Chand
When he saw it on his visit
To the Guru at Anandpur
He wanted to have it by hook
Or by crook. He planned a scheme
Sent his uncle to Guru for borrowing it
For the purpose of a marriage of his son
But being a gift from sikhs it was refused
When he failed to acquire the animal
By stratagem, he attacked Anandpur
But was defeated by the Guru.
It was a deep rooted opposition to Guru
Prasadi being just the visible cause.
According to Sukha Singh in Gurbilas
Dasum Patshahi,Prasadi was reduced to a skeleton during the siege of Anandpur
In 1705 and Guru have him killed
To save him the torture
