Guru Killed A Maneater
Guru Killed A Maneater

Around Paonta sahib, on the bank of Jamuna
There lived a troublesome man-eater old lion
Terrified local people approached Gobind Rai
And asked him to save them from the lion
One fine day Gobind Rai set out for hunting
Along with Raja Medni Prakask of Nahan, Raja Fateh Shah of Kehlur, and many other men.
They reached the den of a lion in a dense forest
Guru Challenged the lion to come out.
Not wanting to risk any of his Sikhs
Guru Gobind Rai himself killed the lion
The tree where Guru stood is still there
When the lion leaped on Guru sahib
He put the shield against his forepaws
And briskly attacked it with the sword
To cut it into two pieces from its torso
Everyone was astonished at his bravery,
Accuracy, strength, and quickness of action
At this place is now a gurdwara Shergah
With a historical tree, a mute testimony
Paonta Sahib is in the Sirmaur district which is
Hilly area of Himachal Pradesh and the
Gurdwara Shergah is in the village Nihalgarh about six kilometers from Paonta sahib
